Welcome to Girona Experience Free Tours
Guided tours in Girona with free pricing, led by our local guides.
In this new type of tour, the word “Free” means free to choose, not free of charge. It refers to the freedom each participant has to pay what they consider appropriate based on their experience during the tour. Factors such as the guide’s work, the proposed route, and the group size are all taken into account.
The guide only receives what you choose to give at the end of the tour. From this amount, they must cover their social security contributions and the commissions charged by tour booking platforms (if you did not book through this website). Therefore, when a free tour is offered in a small group, it is customary to pay a little more than in very large groups.
If you are using a wheelchair or a baby stroller, the route may be a bit more challenging, but not impossible. This is something each person should assess individually.
Girona is a city with many stairs and steep slopes. During our tours, we try to avoid as many of them as possible, but to see everything, some must be climbed. This mainly affects wheelchair users, as on some free tours it may not be possible to access the city walls and certain higher areas of the city.
We recommend asking the guide in each case at the time of booking or contacting us in advance via WhatsApp.
No problem with furry friends!
As long as they behave well and do not disturb the other participants on the tour, they are more than welcome. Just make sure to let us know when you make your reservation!
It is not very common in Girona to experience adverse weather conditions. It does not usually rain very often or heavily, nor does it snow or present other phenomena that would prevent visiting the city. Our tours run even if it rains, as long as it is not heavy rainfall.
However, if for any reason the tour cannot take place, our guides will notify you by WhatsApp or phone call.
Our meeting point is Plaça Sant Feliu, next to The River Café, in the city of Girona.
Our tours finish at Plaça Independència, about a 5-minute walk from where the tour begins.
Our tours are available in Spanish, English, and Catalan, provided that a minimum group size of 6 participants is reached.
Tours in Catalan will only take place if all participants understand the language.
It is important to make a reservation so we know how many people will attend and can properly organize the groups and guides.
Likewise, it is very important to cancel your booking if you cannot attend the tour, so that other visitors can benefit from your place instead.
It can be defined as a pay-what-you-want tour led by a local guide, where you decide how much to pay based on the experience you’ve had.
Please remember that behind every free tour there is significant effort made to offer you the best possible experience.
